On the 18th of April, our team had the pleasure of joining the R:TR’T crew for their much-anticipated Tour of Rutland event. This memorable ride covered an impressive 85 kilometres, featuring four challenging climbs that showcased the beauty of the Rutland countryside.

At around 50 kilometres we made a pit stop for a hearty brunch at the delightful Café Ventoux, fuelling us up for the ride ahead. The route was a perfect blend of demanding ascents and scenic landscapes, providing a wonderful backdrop for the competitive spirit of the group.

Leading the pack were some of our very own Race Ride Fire management and team members. We relished the opportunity to share professional tips and insights on essential cycling skills such as group riding, drafting, cornering, and climbing. It was rewarding to see riders of all levels benefiting from these pointers, enhancing their performance and enjoyment of the day.

After conquering the course, we gathered at The Nevill Arms for a well-deserved celebration as we toasted our achievements with cold beers. A select few even had the pleasure of an overnight stay, complete with an exquisite a la carte dining experience, rounding off a perfect day.

It was wonderful to be part of The Tour of Rutland, giving us the opportunity to not only share our expertise but also strengthen the bonds within our local cycling community. It was a day of shared triumphs and the joy of riding together.

Here’s to many more events like this, where we can come together, ride hard, and celebrate the incredible spirit of cycling. Thank you, R:TR’T team, for organising such a fantastic event. We can’t wait for the next one, maybe a Ride Fire demo day!
